What You Need
to Play Cornhole
One of the best things about cornhole is how little equipment you need to get started. Whether you're setting up a backyard game or preparing for a competitive match, the essentials are simple. Here's what you'll need to start playing.
Cornhole Boards
Two boards with a hole near the top. Regulation boards measure 4 feet long by 2 feet wide and are placed 27 feet apart, measured from their front edges.
Cornhole Bags
Eight throwing bags in total, with four bags for each player or team. Regulation bags are approximately 6 inches square and weigh 15–16 ounces.
A Playing Surface
A level area with enough room for both boards and safe throwing space. Grass, concrete, and indoor flooring can all work for a game of cornhole.
